Bealnamulla United 0 Birr Town 2 - January 21st

Birr Town girls U11 had an early start today as they travelled to Athlone to face Bealnamulla United. The girls started strongly playing some excellent football throughout, but despite creating several goal scoring opportunities the game remained scoreless at half time. The second half began with Birr continuing to put pressure on the home defence. Their efforts were rewarded 10 minutes in when captain for the day Bébhinn Hoctor broke the deadlock with a fine finish . Soon after Ella McIntyre made it 2 nil with a great run and finish. The score remained 2-0 with both sides having chances in the closing minutes. This was a great team performance by the girls based on hard work, skill and team spirit. Well done to all the girls and Referee's choice for player of the match Cliona Boyd

Birr Town u11 vs Bealnamulla.- November 5th

This was a very tight affair with both defences on top throughout the game. The two goalkeepers did very well on the day, both coming away with a clean sheet. The girls are improving every week and this is evident in their all-round play.

Birr Town sneaked a goal to win the game on a 1-0 score line. It was scored by the woman of the match Ella McIntyre.

This has been a very good weekend for all girls teams in Birr Town and shows the level of work in the club.

We’d like to thank our sponsor O’Connor Builders for their sponsorship this year.
