Bealnamulla 0 Birr Town 5 - October 22nd
Our u12 girls remain unbeaten to date after an early morning trip to Bealnamulla today. The Goals came from Aoibheann Dooley (3) and Rachel Wynne (2). Assists Aoibheann Dooley Rachel Wynne Jenne Shobin and Lucia Vaughan. Referees player of the match was Rachel Lyons. A great team performance from all 13 girls involved today.
Tullamore 0 Birr Town 3 - October 8th
Our U12 girls clocked up another 3 points today with a fine display at newcomers to the division Tullamore Town. Goals from Rachel(2) and Jenne sealed the win and we remain unbeaten. Credit to Tullamore they played some great football and didn’t make it easy for us. Warm thanks to referee Grainne Hannigan for the lovely encouraging way she spoke to the girls all through the game.
Birr Town 3 - Clara 1 - October 1st
Our u12 girls kept their good start to the season going today at home to a talented Clara Tn team. Within a couple of minutes we found ourselves a goal down. We couldn’t seem to get our passing game going and were hanging on for a lot of the first half. Under immense pressure our back three of Orlagh Katie and especially Robyn kept us in the game. 0-1 at half time. A few quiet words at half time asking for the real Birr Town to show up did the trick. Our top scorers Rachel and Jenne put one each past the Clara keeper. At 2-1 up keeper Kayleigh pulled off two amazing saves to keep us ahead. Move of the match saw Layla moved back into central midfield where she took control and played the sweetest pass through the line for Rachel to run onto. Once again Rachel made no mistake and the game ended 3-1 to keep our unbeaten run going. Player of the match went to Katie Conneely at centre half. She ran herself into the ground and made several vital interceptions. Well done Katie and well done girls
